As shown, apparently handmade wooden percussion instrument, similar to MARACAS on a stick, definitely some type of CLAPPER, but not sure of what this is called, measuring approximately 11.5" long, 5.75" wide, 3" deep at bottom.  Great percussion musical instrument / ethnic home design!
